Cold Water Conservation & Youth Fly Fishing Camp

About Us
Established in 2002. The Rivercourse Cold Water Conservation & Youth Fly Fishing Camp is sponsored by the North Carolina State Council of Trout Unlimited and emphasizes Trout Unlimited’s Mission – the conservation, restoration and preservation of cold water fisheries and their watersheds – while teaching campers the basics of fly fishing.

Our Goals For Campers:

1)     To leave with a lasting appreciation of the importance of preserving and protecting our environment.
2)    To become committed as an active participant in efforts to ensure clean water and habitat for generations to come.
3)    To learn about fly fishing, get outside, make friends and have a great time at camp.

  Camp Highlights:

  • Trout Unlimited Mission
  • Basics of Fly Fishing
  • Equipment
  • Water Safety & Stream Etiquette
  • Fly Tying & Knots
  • Fly Casting Essentials
  • Entomology & Flies
  • Fish the Pigeon River
 Accommodations:
Camper lodging is fully chaperoned in well-appointed cottages at the beautiful Lake Logan Center near Canton, with three delicious meals served daily in a beautiful dining room setting. To learn more about the center, please visit https://www.lakelogan.org.
The campers are lodged in cottages with four bedrooms. Each bedroom has a set of twin beds and a private bathroom. All linens and towels are provided. Meals are served in a modern dining hall, part of which is set up as a permanent “classroom.”
To ensure privacy, boys and girls are housed in separate cabins with same-gender counselors serving as their chaperones.
